Mom’s Sugar Cookies

- 1 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon grated orange peel
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 8 teaspoons milk
- 4 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
- Combine shortening, sugar, orange peel & vanilla: then add the eggs.
- Beat until light and fluffy.
- Stir in the milk.
- Shift together dry ingredients.
- Blend with creamed mixture.
- Divide dough in half and form two balls.
- Chill for one hour.
- Roll and Cut Out.
- Bake at 375 for 6 – 8 minutes on an ungreased cookie sheet.
